The hugely popular Butterflies LIVE! exhibit is back at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and Elevation is promoting the event through an integrated campaign of television, outdoor, print and social media. In fact, the widget that we launched for the Garden in January 2009 has been installed over 3,600 times—producing over 250,000 views in the weeks prior to the event!

The event runs through October 11th. Make your plans to attend today. [To view Elevation's Butterflies LIVE! commercials, click the image above. Requires a Flash plug-in to view properly. Click image above to view the outdoor board at a larger size.]

Dominion Riverrock: Richmond’s Riverlife Celebration

RiverRock_Work

Sports Backers and Venture Richmond recently announced the creation of Dominion Riverrock—a new event that is designed to unite the community through a unique mix of sports, music and fun, set against the backdrop of Richmond’s downtown riverfront.

Elevation played a key role in helping these two organizations create the event. We developed its name and identity, as well as a complete branding platform and strategic marketing plan for what will become an annual celebration of Richmond riverlife.

UPDATED: Dominion Riverrock was a huge success–with over 10,000 participants the first night alone! Elevation’s promotional campaign included traditional and non-traditional elements, including social media and mobile marketing. Planning will begin soon on the second annual event, and we can’t wait to be a part of it again! [To view Elevation's Riverrock commercial, click the top image above. Butterflies LIVE! Is Coming (pass it on)

In preparation for Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s upcoming Butterflies LIVE! event, Elevation created the widget above for use on Facebook pages, blogs, etc.

This little blue-winged beauty is spreading like wildfire! Over 3,600 people have added it to their sites, and more than 77,000 unique viewers have clicked the widget to see the wings flap. Most importantly, they’ve followed the embedded link to visit Lewis Ginter’s website for more information.

It’s one example of the many ways Elevation is helping our clients take advantage of social media. Oh, and we’d love you to install the widget, too! Just click Get & Share to add it to your own page, and spread the news about this great event.

Stories of Hope

At Virginia Supportive Housing’s 20th anniversary celebration on November 20th, Elevation proudly unveiled a documentary film entitled “Stories of Hope” that captures how this impressive not-for-profit group is working toward ending homelessness in Virginia.

It’s an emotional piece filled with the stories of formerly homeless persons who now have stable incomes and housing thanks to the work of VSH.

This film was created for use in presentations about the group. It’s 14 minutes long, but is so engaging that it goes by in the blink of an eye. If you don’t have time to watch now, we encourage you to come back and view it later. It’s well worth your time. [The video above requires a Flash plug-in to view properly]

Be a Holiday Angel

McKesson Medical-Surgical is sponsoring their second annual Holiday Angels charity drive in support of homebound adults served by Meals on Wheels. Their goal is to collect 5,000 individual gifts, as well as cash donations.

Elevation has worked closely with McKesson to develop and implement this important promotion, which is poised to make a dramatic impact on the lives of our elderly and disabled neigbors in metro Richmond. Collection bins will be posted in nearly 50 Richmond-area CVS locations through December 7th. You can help by donating a variety of new, unwrapped, non-food gift items. For a complete list of suggested gifts, visit mowdelivers.com. We hope you’ll join us in being a holiday angel for Meals on Wheels this season!

UPDATE: Thanks to the genorosity of residents in the Richmond region, the Holiday Angels drive was a huge success—with over 5,600 individual gifts collected for Meals on Wheels clients. Congratulations to McKesson and its promotional partners, CVS and WTVR Channel 6!

GardenFest of Lights is Coming Soon

It’s hard to believe, but Central Virginia’s favorite holiday tradition is just around the corner! Yes, GardenFest of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden returns November 28th – January 12th, and will be open nightly from 5-10 pm except December 24th, 25th and January 1st.

We’ve been hard at work on this year’s promotional materials, including the outdoor board above. But the wonderful folks at Lewis Ginter have been working much harder to prepare the half-million lights that make this event such a special experience! A Proven, Permanent Solution to Homelessness

Elevation is a proud supporter of Virginia Supportive Housing, one of the few not-for-profit organizations in the country that provides both permanent housing and supportive services to the most under-served segments of our population. The results are dramatic. 96% of their residents obtain a stable income through work entitlement programs; 90% of their residents NEVER RETURN to homelessness; and the public saves up to $9,000 per individual served.

We’ve been busy redesigning their website and shooting a documentary film that will be unveiled at their 20th anniversary celebration on November 20th at the Marquee. We look forward to sharing it with you soon. In the meantime, consider making a donation! Call Virginia Supportive Housing at 804.788.6825. [Click image above to view ad at a larger size]
