Identity Development Projects

Elevation Helps YMCA Grow Stronger

The Greater Richmond YMCA is embarking on a major capital campaign that will enable this unique organization to strengthen its outreach throughout central Virginia.

Elevation was asked to develop a messaging platform, a theme and a graphic platform that could be used to support a multi-faceted campaign that will touch all 15 branches and provide a solid foundation for corporate giving.

Our theme, Growing Stronger Together, reflects the many elements of the YMCA’s capital campaign, and provides a flexible framework for telling the story of how it will strengthen the organization’s mission, programs, outreach and organizational leadership. This theme was brought to life through a dynamic graphic platform that YMCA’s internal design department can use over the next 2-3 years to unify all campaign materials.

We are thrilled to have played a part in YMCA’s Campaign for a Stronger Community! [Click the image above to view items at a larger size]

Elevation Develops Celeritas Identity

Elevation recently developed a comprehensive identity package for Celeritas Management—a company that owns and manages sports and entertainment properties that primarily serve the Hispanic community in the Americas.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Celeritas is already making an impact in this growing market. Look for more Celeritas-related work on the Elevation blog in the weeks ahead.

Be a Holiday Angel

McKesson Medical-Surgical is sponsoring their second annual Holiday Angels charity drive in support of homebound adults served by Meals on Wheels. Their goal is to collect 5,000 individual gifts, as well as cash donations.

Elevation has worked closely with McKesson to develop and implement this important promotion, which is poised to make a dramatic impact on the lives of our elderly and disabled neigbors in metro Richmond. Collection bins will be posted in nearly 50 Richmond-area CVS locations through December 7th. You can help by donating a variety of new, unwrapped, non-food gift items. For a complete list of suggested gifts, visit mowdelivers.com. We hope you’ll join us in being a holiday angel for Meals on Wheels this season!

UPDATE: Thanks to the genorosity of residents in the Richmond region, the Holiday Angels drive was a huge success—with over 5,600 individual gifts collected for Meals on Wheels clients. Congratulations to McKesson and its promotional partners, CVS and WTVR Channel 6!

Mmmm… Gingerbread!

Richmond’s Legendary Gingerbread Festival at the Children’s Museum of Richmond takes place November 8th-15th. It’s the second year for this incredible event, and it’s well worth a spot on your busy calendar. Chefs from around Richmond will be unleashing their culinary talents with one-of-a-kind gingerbread creations. You simply have to see them to believe them! Get the details now at www.c-mor.org. Library of Virginia Identity Gets a Refresh

In a twist of irony, the Library of Virginia asked us to update their aging logo… not realizing that our own Frank Gilliam created that logo earlier in his career. After pushing aside his momentary feelings of “Man, am I really that old?” he led the Elevation team to creating the new identity, which has been embraced by with enthusiasm by the client.

It recently showed up in an ice sculpture, in full 4-color treatment, no less. We’re not sure we want to know how they did that. But it sure looked cool. (No pun intended.)

Elevation Creates New CARITAS Identity

CARITAS (Congregations Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter) was organized in the late 1980s to respond to the unmet need for emergency shelter for homeless adults. More than 170 faith communities work together to provide over 37,000 nights of shelter.

Elevation recently created a new logo, business system and graphic platform for this wonderful organization. Keep an eye out for examples of CARITAS’ new approach to collateral design in the upcoming months.
